Cutting Edge Technology - Well Paid Permanent Contract - Located in Jumar Bioincubator Our client is an Australian Biotech company whose goal is to develop therapeutics that slow or prevent the accumulation of genomic damage that occurs with age. Their researchers conduct a combination of fundamental research: to identify the root causes of genomic damage and validate their consequences. translational research: to develop strategies to target the root causes to either slow or reverse the damage. Lead your own project and be part of research strategy Reporting to the Research and Development Manager you will have your own independent project to shape the direction of. This is not a management role, so you need to be happy to do your own experiments with the support of research assistants. You will start by leading one of the existing projects, and you must also be able to develop your own research strategies using the company’s root cause analysis approach. The company is fully funded by their parent company Leading Technology Group, with a long-term research focus. A strong understanding of statistics and experimental design Medical science is hard! Without a strong understanding of experimental design and statistics most experiments end in failure and do not replicate. You don’t need a stats degree, but you must have a strong understanding of the key concepts of experimental design and the statistics used for hypothesis testing and power analysis. Most of all you need a desire to learn and use these tools to ensure your experiments are a success. Key Requirements 1-5 years’ experience post PhD Keen to remain involved in laboratory work
